The Chinese are remaking the 2000 Mel Gibson romantic comedy “What Women Want”, in which Gibson’s character gets struck by lightning and suddenly can hear women’s thoughts. Hey, I’m not saying it’s scientifically viable.
Sun (Andy Lau) is not exactly the ideal husband, father or son, but family takes the backseat against career. As the top brass of the leading ad agency, his mind is only fixed on being promoted to the executive creative director post. While brainstorming in the bathtub, Sun accidentally suffers from an electric shock and when he wakes up in the hospital,– he can really hear what women think! By listening to everyone’s, Sun quickly wins the hearts and trust of all women, and he also takes advantage of his new colleague Ly (Gong Li) by eavesdropping on her brainstorming, then copies them and present as his own work. Romance soon evolves among this odd couple, and Sun is at the crossroads – Should he be honest for true love, or use his gift to regain the executive creative director post?
